VectorViewer — Comprehensive Enterprise Document Product Suite
VectorViewer is an enterprise document management product that helps enterprises do the mundane activities around documents and forms in a simpler way using a powerful cloud solution.
While the VectorViewer website provides full details of all the features and functionalities it offers, this article explains in detail the need for such a solution.
Multi Tenant Client Dashboard — VectorViewer provides a multi tenant enabled client dashboard to all its clients which helps clients setup more than one tenant and multiple environments (such as Dev, QA, Prod etc) under each of those tenant
Cloud Storage — While there are zillions of companies that offers cloud storage today, VectorViewer’s cloud storage of documents is unique in sense that its just the first step towards using the full suite of enterprise products it offers. This is backed by a highest level of protection using industry’s best encryption technology and end to end security. Pushing document to VectorViewer cloud is a simple call to one of their File Upload API.
Basic Document Operations Once the document is pushed to the cloud, it can be viewed from any browser by calling VectorViewer’s simple connect API. VectorViewer’s powerful PDF Engine converts documents from any format (png, jpg, doc, xls, ppt, txt, html and much more) to a PDF format and displays it in a friendly browser viewer. In addition to viewing document there are other operations you can do such as moving around pages, cut/copy pages, add a new page and so on.
Annotations and Redaction Annotations are comments, notes, explanations, or other types of external remarks that can be attached to a Web document or to a selected part of a document. Redaction is a process of hiding sensitive information such as SSN, TaxIDs, DOB and other information in a document from common users due to privacy concerns. Only users with some special permissions will be able to view those information.
VectorViewer’s Annotator is bundled along its document viewer and user will be able to perform various annotation actions on the document such as adding various shapes (arrow, box, circle, line..), adding Custom Text, adding Sticky Notes, adding Filled boxes, Underlining/ Strikethrough/ Highlighting of text & adding adding dynamic Watermarks. All these annotations are stored in a special JSON format along the document and is applied to the document at run time when there is a request to view a document. This means that the original document uploaded by the user remains untouched.
Fillable Forms One of the most power feature of VectorViewer is the ability to configure a PDF form template via its dashboard designer where any existing PDF Form can be uploaded and configured. VectorViewer’s Forms Designer is a powerful tool where all the rules around the form can be easily configured. Things like, an Amount field should be always filled with a number, a field containing TaxId should be always masked, or passing some default values to the form, marking a field as disabled and so on. In addition user can also setup advanced rules on any field using a Custom Javascript function that gets attached to the each field in the form.
One of the powerful feature of VectorViewer fillable forms is the ability to setup a multi stage/multi user Digital Signature flow on a given form. This means that a form can be configured to take inputs from multiple users and also get digitally signed the form by multiple users at different stages. In addition each field in the form can be setup to be filled by a specific user at a given stage. FillableForms easily integrates with DocuSign for Digital Signatures. Alternatively forms can be also configured to use the in built e-signatures that can be set on any TextArea in the PDF Form.
Global Forms — Global Forms in VectorViewer are class of forms that can be generated by clients automatically for their users which does not need any user interactions/inputs. A very good example of GlobalForms are the year end tax forms such as W2, 1099, 1040 etc. VectorViewer supports out of the box many such forms that are available for all clients to use. In addition clients and their tenant can upload their own Global Forms that will be available for their end users only. In addition these Global Forms can be generated either in bulk for all the users in the background or can be done via simple UI — VectorViewer provides a Generate API to generate these documents which also accepts values for all the form fields.
